The ringed note is the root, C. Tap any note to hear it.
Playing along on Bluetooth headphones? They delay every sound by about 150–250 ms, so taps land late against the band. Wired headphones or speakers keep them in time.

About These Jazz Guitar Backing Tracks
The ii–V–I is the progression jazz is built from, and the one every improviser practises first. This backing track loops it in any of the 12 major keys (Dm7–G7–Cmaj7–A7 in C, with the A7 walking back to the top) or the 12 minor keys (Bm7♭5–E7–Am7 in A minor). The bass walks quarter notes with a chromatic approach into every chord, the drums swing the ride, and an electric piano comps the Charleston rhythm — all swung together on one clock. Practise arpeggios slowly, then take it up to tempo.

Frequently Asked Questions
A three-chord cadence: the minor 7th on the 2nd degree, the dominant 7th on the 5th, and the major 7th on the 1st. In C that is Dm7, G7, Cmaj7. It is the most common progression in jazz standards, which is why it is the first one to practise.
In a major key, the major scale of the I chord fits all three chords — C major over Dm7–G7–Cmaj7. Target the chord tones (the 3rd and 7th of each chord) on the strong beats to make the changes audible. Over a minor ii-V-i, the harmonic minor of the i chord fits the V7.
Yes. Switch the key to minor and the track plays the minor version: the half-diminished ii (m7 flat 5), a dominant V7 and the minor i. In A minor that is Bm7 flat 5, E7, Am7.
It starts at 130 BPM, a medium swing, and goes from 40 to 240 BPM. Learn new lines at 80–100 and push past 200 for up-tempo practice.
Jazz comping is usually piano or a guitarist playing small rootless voicings, and a strummed guitar chord sounds wrong for the style. The track uses a Rhodes-style electric piano by default; you can switch the chord sound to electric or acoustic guitar.
Yes. They play in your browser with no download, account or sign-up. The drums, bass, guitar and electric piano are real recorded instruments from public-domain (CC0) sample libraries, so you can also practise, stream or record over them.
