Which note is at fret 5 on the 4th string (E)?
About the Bass Note Trainer
Guitar Tool Hub's bass note trainer is a quiz for learning the notes on the bass neck. One position lights up and you name the note from 12 buttons; the answer is revealed on the neck and played at bass pitch, and your score, accuracy and streak are kept as you go. Start in the open position (frets 0–4), move to the first 12 frets, then the whole 24-fret neck, and narrow the quiz to one string to drill it. Works on 9 tunings for 4, 5 and 6-string bass, with sharp or flat note names and a left-handed neck.

Frequently Asked Questions
Learn a few frets at a time. Start with the open position (frets 0 to 4) on the E and A strings, because that is where most bass lines find their roots. Once you can name those without thinking, add the D and G strings, then frets 5 to 12. Everything above the 12th fret repeats the first 12 frets an octave higher.
One position on the bass neck lights up with a question mark, and the question names the string and fret. Pick the note from the 12 buttons. The answer is revealed on the neck and played at bass pitch; a correct answer moves on to the next note automatically, and a wrong one waits until you press Next note. Your score, accuracy, streak and best streak are shown as you go.
