About This Play-Along Guitar Tool
Play-Along Guitar is a free bring-your-own-song jam workspace. You supply the track — paste a YouTube link or upload an audio or video file from your device — and type in the chords yourself. The tool reads the chords from your box and turns them into clickable guitar chord diagrams you can glance at while you play. Transpose the chords up or down to fit your voice without retyping them, and save the whole setup in your browser to pick up later. There's no audio key or tempo change here on purpose — for that, use the YouTube Looper (slow a section down) or the Pitch Changer (shift the key of an audio file).

A play-along tool lets you jam along to a song while keeping the chords in front of you. With Play-Along Guitar you load the track yourself — a YouTube link or an uploaded audio/video file — type the song's chords into a box, and the tool shows the matching chord diagrams. You press play and strum along, glancing at the diagrams for each change.
Choose the YouTube link tab, paste the video URL, and click Load — the video plays in the embedded YouTube player. Then type the song's chords into the chord box (for example: G D Em C). The tool renders a clickable diagram for each chord so you can follow along. Press play on the video and strum the chords in time.
Yes. Switch to the Upload file tab and choose (or drag in) an audio or video file from your device — MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, WebM and similar formats work. The file plays locally in your browser and is never uploaded to a server. Type the chords into the box and the diagrams appear alongside the player.
Yes. Use the Transpose up/down buttons to shift every chord shown in the chart and diagrams by a semitone at a time, and the Sharps/Flats toggle to control how the new chords are spelled. The transpose is a display lens — the text you typed in the box stays exactly as you wrote it, so you can move keys to fit your voice without retyping. Note this transposes the written chords only, not the audio: to change the actual pitch of an uploaded file, use the Pitch Changer.
No — Play-Along Guitar deliberately leaves the audio's pitch and tempo alone (and a YouTube embed can't be pitch-shifted at all). It pairs your track with chord diagrams to jam along to. To slow a YouTube section down for learning, use the YouTube Looper. To change the key or speed of an uploaded audio file, use the Pitch Changer — there's a link to it on the upload tab.
Yes. Give the song a name and press Save to keep it in your browser using local storage — no account needed — and your current work auto-saves as a draft so a refresh won't lose it. The chords, transpose setting, and YouTube link are stored; uploaded files aren't (they stay on your device), so for a file-based song you re-select the file when you reopen it.
